What Was It REALLY Like to Survive in the Stalingrad Pocket? Hunger, Extreme Cold and 100g of Bread

Discover unpublished and rarely seen photographs from the Battle of Berlin in 1945, brought together in an exclusive collection for history enthusiasts. More than 200 historical photographs take you through the final days of the Third Reich and reveal scenes rarely shown in documentaries. Surviving inside the Stalingrad pocket during the winter of 1942–1943 meant facing not only the Red Army each day, but also hunger, extreme cold, and total exhaustion. Following Operation Uranus, launched on November 19, 1942, Soviet forces encircled the German 6th Army and other Axis units. Hundreds of thousands of men were trapped in a devastated zone with insufficient supplies and temperatures that plummeted far below freezing. Hitler prohibited retreat, ordering troops to hold their positions at all costs while the Luftwaffe attempted to resupply them by air. Food rapidly became one of the greatest crises. Rations were steadily reduced as the encirclement tightened and stockpiles dwindled. In the final weeks, some soldiers received merely around 100 grams of bread per day, supplemented—when available—by meager portions of watery soup or horsemeat. Horses were slaughtered to feed

Trump and power - A deep divide across America

A cinematic journey through the first year of Donald Trump's second term as president. Fear, hope, protest, loyalty and disappointment all shape this portrait of the US as a nation in turmoil. Washington, D.C., and Piedmont, West Virginia. As President Trump's second term sparks fear and alarm in the liberal capital, coal country in Appalachia clings to the hope of a long-awaited economic turnaround. Only a two-and-a-half-hour drive separates Washington, D.C., from Piedmont, West Virginia — yet the two places exist in hugely different cultural worlds. In liberal D.C., shock about Donald Trump's return for a second term runs deep. Many federal workers fear for their jobs, rights and democracy. In coal country, by contrast, Trump is seen as the last hope for an economic revival. Coal trains may still rumble through town, but factories stand empty and drug problems are tearing through the community. Even so, there's tremendous resilience to be found here. This documentary follows both places over the course of a year, exploring how people with sharply contrasting realities see Trump's return to the presidency. In Washington
