For nearly three years, while her ex partner continued to threaten her and refused to allow any access to the children, she did everything she could to prove she was a good parent and to fight the stigmatisation of sex workers. Is Africa the World's Testing Ground for GMOs?

Across Africa, lobbyists, philanthropists and businessmen are working to open up the continent to GMO food. They argue that GMOs can provide a miracle solution to two of Africa’s biggest problems: famine and malaria. The main promoters is Bill Gates, now the head of the most powerful philanthropic foundation in history. This film reveals how the Gates Foundation became the main funder of genetic experiments underway on the continent and investigates the possible repercussions of their actions. The Gates foundation is discreetly conducting research on cassava genes and on the genetic modification of mosquitoes to fight malaria. These kind of tests are banned in Europe because of their potential risks to health and the environment. So the trials are carried out in Africa instead. By financing the development of GMOs in Africa, a neoliberal model of development and corporate domination is being imposed on Africa, opening it up to the global agribusiness. This is the new world of philanthrocapitalism, where humanitarian aid has a stubborn aftertaste of business, famine programs are often a pretext to introduce GMOs and public investments

25 Years On: Fighting ISIS and the Global Power Struggle

The global coalition against ISIS was never just about fighting terrorism. Hidden behind that rhetoric lie proxy wars and regional power-struggles. ISIS successfully exploited Sunni discontent to take control of large swathes of Iraq. It was only after the attacks in Europe that a new Iraqi army, meant to rally together Sunnis and Shiites and embody national unity, was created. But in reality, the army is regarded as an offshoot of the Shiite regime. Many believe that Sunnis and Shiites can no longer peacefully co-exist and the Kurds hope to profit from these fractures to form their own homeland. In Syria, when the uprising first started, Assad was able to divide the opposition and secure his own dictatorship by freeing the most radical Islamic prisoners. He has used ISIS to weaken his enemies and present himself as a bastion against terrorism. Invoking religious solidarity, he has the support of Shiite Iran and Hezbollah. Today, 5,000 Hezbollah fighters are present in Syria. The war against ISIS effectively enables them and Iran to control a large part of the country. But for

Clearview AI is redefining our privacy. The New York-based tech company is working to identify and compile the faces of every human being on the planet. It claims that the database will serve as a force for good, helping to solve crimes and prevent espionage. But its clients include Middle Eastern dictatorships and its links to the far-right and the source of its funding have raised other concerns. The risks it poses are immense. Clearview AI says it's aiming to collect 100 billion images – that's 14 for every person on the planet. Most of these images are scraped from social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn without the owner’s knowledge or consent. Already it is the second most accurate face recognition platform in the world. The most accurate one is run by the Chinese Communist Party and used for for real time mass surveillance in order to monitor its population and suppress dissent. To the concern of many, Clearview’s technology has been licensed to the United Arab Emirates, where those who dare criticise the regime end up in
