These Lions started out life in a zoo, forced to perform for audiences every night. When the male lion eventually snapped and attacked a circus worker, they were sent to a zoo in Baia Mare, Romania. The lions were kept in tiny cages with concrete flooring, trapped together for years until Romania joining the EU meant that the zoo had to close, and the lions faced euthanasia if a new home wasn't found for them.
