Neel Kashkari has been the president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis since 2016. He previously held positions in the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2006 to 2009, including assistant secretary. During the financial crisis, Kashkari oversaw the federal government’s Troubled Assets Relief Program program, also known as TARP, a multi-billion dollar fund intended to stabilize the U.S. financial system.
