About Mobile phones are potentially hazardous to public health | An Invisible Threat (full documentary)

We can't see, hear, or touch them, but electromagnetic waves are all around us, permeating the air and irradiating our bodies and environment. Today, our world is filled with wireless devices that constantly emit man-made electromagnetic fields, forming the basis of an extremely lucrative industry. Scientists have noted that the level of radiation we're exposed to has drastically increased beyond natural levels. In 2011, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization (WHO), first acknowledged that microwaves emitted by mobile phones could be "possible carcinogens." This classification still stands today. The potential dangers of these invisible waves have been a topic of intense discussion for over a decade, and the issue remains highly relevant. ------- Chapters ▷ 0:00:00 – Intro ▷ 0:04:30 – Health Risks from Radiation ▷ 0:07:30 – Physical or Psychosomatic ▷ 0:13:30 – Scientific uncertainty calls for research ▷ 0:17:20 – Microwave Warfare ▷ 0:20:47 – Observation and Suspicions ▷ 0:32:56 – Potentially Carcinogenic ▷ 0:38:06 – Expert and Research ▷ 0:40:05 – Conflicts of Interests ▷ 0:53:11 – Protests and

Mosquitoes, Grilled Meat & Brain Freeze: Everyday Myths Put to the Test | Myth or Science (1/6)

In Episode 1 of Myth or Science, microbiologist Dr Jennifer Gardy takes on some of the most common health and science claims we hear every day. Using her own body as part of the experiment, she travels from Florida’s mosquito labs to freezing cold research chambers, New York food tests, and a classroom ice cream challenge to separate fact from fiction. Can mosquitoes really prefer women over men? Does grilled meat increase cancer risk? Does alcohol actually warm you up in cold weather? Do we lose most of our body heat through our head? Can eating too fast make you gain weight? And can brain freeze happen even on a cold day? With humor, curiosity, and unorthodox experiments, Gardy puts each claim under the microscope, revealing the surprising science behind the myths that shape our everyday choices. ------- Chapters ▷ 00:00 - Intro: Are Common Health Claims True? ▷ 00:40 - Can You Spread a Cold Before Symptoms? ▷ 01:51 - Are Mosquitoes More Attracted to Women? ▷ 08:00 - Can Grilled Meat Increase Cancer Risk? ▷ 11:52 - Can

Seven years ago Dr. Norman Doidge introduced Neuroplasticity to the world – the idea that our brains aren’t rigid, that they can change, can be rewired. The Brain’s Way of Healing is about neuroplasticity’s invaluable next step – healing the mind and the body. It’s revolutionary and in some instances shocking – we’ll see people’s lifelong afflictions cured almost miraculously. But miracles have nothing to do with it. It’s about how science and medicine are looking at the brain in different ways and discovering that permanent, lifelong and even life threatening ailments and diseases can now be dealt with–and in many instances done away with. ------- Chapters ▷ 00:00 - Introduction ▷ 01:00 - The man that walked off his parkinsonian symptoms ▷ 08:02 - A device that resets the brain helps two women recover from traumatic brain injuries ▷ 12:30 - The portable neuromodulation stimulator that reverses the symptoms of a muscular sclerosis patient ▷ 20:15 - Using energy and sound waves to help rewire the brain of autistic children ▷ 32:40 - Healing a brain injury with low-intensity

Importance of the microbiome for a disease-free world | The Future Is Here (5/6)

After several family members developed Alzheimer's disease, Julia Ravey decided to become a neuroscientist and find the cure. Following recent research that suggests a link between the stomach, the brain and mental health, she meets the scientists harnessing the power of what is called "The Microbiome". Julia travels to Australia, where she meets Dr. Barry Marshall, a Nobel-prize winner who infected himself with H. pylori to prove that bacteria could cause ulcers, leading to a breakthrough in the stomach cancer treatment. However, bacteria are not all bad – in the Netherlands, she visits the Micropia Museum, learning that microbes can also be essential to our way of life. Understanding the microbiome as a kind of ecosystem that is part of the human body, scientists are attempting to increase the presence of microbes across the body by intentionally infecting people with more infectious agents. As microbiologists from Rutgers University explain to Julia, increasing microbial diversity in the body boosts its immunity, and helps people fight disease from the inside out. The next stop is UC San Diego, home to The American
