About Hobbyhorse: An unusual pastime originating in Finland and quickly gaining popularity worldwide

Hobbyhorse Revolution is a funny and moving film about the power of imagination and the strength of a community. The film follows three young girls, Aisku, Elsa and Alisa whose lives have been transformed by their new interest: hobbyhorses. Despite a lack of understanding by some, the girls bravely and spiritedly pursue their hobby. Playing with hobbyhorses is a traditional children’s activity, but today’s Finnish teenagers have created a versatile hobby around it, raising the scene to a whole new level. The hobbyists’ are unofficially organised , working on a voluntary basis. In one hand they are active online with their Instagram accounts, blogs and forums while on the other they practise the sport by exercising outdoors in woods and parks - and they are serious. They are an ever-growing group that trains determinedly and organises nationwide competitions. Every handcrafted hobbyhorse has its own name and personality. The age range of hobbyists is continuously expanding, with the eldest now over 20 years old. The hobbyhorse fever is now spreading abroad as well. Director Selma Vilhunen says: “Making this film has

Margaret Thatcher: The Iron Lady Who Changed Britain Forever (Documentary, 2012)

The major film The Iron Lady features a critically acclaimed performance by Meryl Streep as British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher – The Iron Lady of the Western World. From her humble beginnings as a Grocer’s daughter from Grantham, Margaret Thatcher fought her way through the murky world of politics, the sexist prejudices of the Conservative Party elite and the scepticism of the British electorate to become the greatest British Prime Minister since Winston Churchill. Although Margaret Thatcher broke down the barriers and became a pathfinder for a new generation of women in politics, she was not averse to using her good looks and sexuality to help convince other leaders that hers was the right course of action. It was not for nothing that French Premier Francois Mitterrand said that she had ‘the eyes of Caligula and the mouth of Marilyn Monroe’. But most of all Margaret Thatcher was a conviction politician. Never scared of criticism or negative opinion polls, she fought for what she believed was right and just: whether that was fighting against the Argentine invasion of the Falklands

Death in Malta: The Journalist's Death that Shook the Nation | Daphne Caruana Galizia

Daphne Caruana Galizia was a fearless investigative journalist, a relentless truth-seeker, and a courageous voice against corruption, whose reporting shook the foundations of power in Malta. 📰 Nestled off the southern coast of Italy, Malta is a picturesque archipelago shadowed by corruption, deep societal divisions, and a scarcity of civic responsibility. From this challenging environment emerged a fearless journalist. Daphne Caruana Galizia became the island’s lone voice of conscience, her fearless investigative reporting and piercing editorials shaking the foundations of power. She was simultaneously the most celebrated and the most reviled figure in Malta. In 2017, a relentless campaign of intimidation culminated in her death by car bombing. Daphne was also a devoted mother to three sons, who, alongside their father, have carried forward her fight for justice and transparency. Narrated with intensity by the youngest, award-winning journalist Paul Caruana Galizia, A Death in Malta is both a portrait of courage and a compelling chronicle of a family’s crusade for accountability in a society built on deception — a struggle whose impact resonates far beyond Malta. 💥👩‍👦‍👦🕯️ ►
