Inside the Wolf’s Lair: Hitler's Hidden Nazi Headquarters

We went inside the Wolf's Lair (Wolfsschanze), Adolf Hitler’s secret Eastern Front military headquarters. Get an exclusive look at Hitler's bunker, Alfred Jodl's bunker, Hermann Goering's bunker, and Wilhelm Keitel's bunker. Explore the famous location of the Hitler assassination attempt, 'Operation Valkyrie', which almost ended the Third Reich. Luke Tomes joins WW2 expert and Third Reich expert Jonny Whitlam to explore the remains of the Wolf's Lair complex today, imagining how decisions of such immense consequence were made in this remote, heavily fortified forest, and how close history came to taking a very different turn. During World War Two, Hitler spent most of his time in his secret bunker, making it the perfect location for a group of German officers to attempt to assassinate him. The failed Hitler assassination attempt happened on July 20 1944, in the plot known as 'Operation Valkyrie'. A bomb was detonated during a military briefing inside the complex, but Hitler survived death with only minor injuries, allowing Hitler's Nazi regime to carry on. The Cruelest Medical Experiments Of Nazi Germany

The horrific medical experiments and racial policies implemented by the Nazis, stemming from the belief in "Aryan" supremacy and the need to dominate "inferior peoples." From 1933, Hitler's racist ideologies transformed into concrete measures, with medical professionals playing a crucial role in forced sterilisation of mixed-race individuals and the mass murder of the mentally ill. Doctors at concentration camps, notably Auschwitz, performed brutal in-vivo experiments on prisoners, including mass sterilisation using X-rays—a method designed for efficiency—and genetic research on twins, often resulting in death. Correspondence with companies like Bayer even shows requests for prisoners for drug testing. The ultimate goal of these experiments was to multiply the "German race" and eradicate other populations. The chilling account also reveals the discovery of chloroform injections directly into the heart as another method of extermination. The summary concludes with the varied fates of the perpetrators, some facing justice, while others, like Josef Mengele, evaded capture.
