About The Lost Treasure Hoard Of Little Big Horn

In 1874, Lt. Colonel George sent Custer on a scouting mission to the Black Hills area. He reportedly found something while he was there - gold. This sparked a gold rush of settlers flooding the sacred Native American lands, which in turned sparked off a war. In response to the uprising, Custer led his forces into the ill-planned Battle of Little Big Horn, where he made his infamous Last Stand. But, before the battle, some say there was treasure to be had - gold coins, paper currency, and other valuables brought to the battlefield. So, what happened to the treasure after the battle. 💚 Join the Absolute History club to get access to exclusive member benefits! 📺 You can now become a History Hit member right here on the original video platform! The Rare Artifacts Found In A Lost Anglo-Saxon Cemetery

In this episode, the Time Team conducts a high-stakes rescue mission in a Lincolnshire field where deep plowing threatens a rare Anglo-Saxon cemetery. The excavation reveals a fascinating cross-section of British history, from a 2,500 BC Bronze Age "beaker" burial mound to a 6th-century cemetery aligned with an ancient Roman trackway. High-profile finds include a remarkably tall "warrior woman" buried with military honors, a man clutching a drinking vessel in a unique burial rite, and stunningly preserved glass and amber jewelry. Through forensic analysis and experimental archaeology, we reconstruct the lives and battles of these early settlers who bridged the gap between the fall of Rome and the birth of England. Odyssey is your journey into the world of Ancient History; from the dawn of Mesopotamia to the fall of Rome. We'll be bringing you only the best documentaries that journey into the mysteries and ruins of worlds long lost. :european_castle: You can now become a History Hit member right here on the original video platform! The Shocking Discovery Of A 3,000-Year-Old Lost Kingdom | Mysteries Of China

Construction workers in Chengdu, China, accidentally discovered the archeological site known as Jinsha in 2001, considered one of the most significant discoveries of the century. The site contains a treasure trove of Jade, gold, and thousands of human remains in burial grounds, with some suggesting possible human sacrifice. Jinsha was an ancient kingdom thriving around the same time as the Shang Dynasty in the Sichuan basin, challenging previous beliefs about the only birthplace of Chinese culture being the Central Plain of the Yellow River. Very little is known about the Shu People, the inhabitants of ancient Chengdu, as they left no written records, and information comes mainly from texts of rival cultures. The discoveries at Jinsha, including giant bronze masks and a bronze figure with divine powers, indicate a complex religious and cultural system. The civilization's disappearance might be linked to natural disasters like earthquakes and floods or changes in water management. 💚 Join the Absolute History club to get access to exclusive member benefits!
