About The History Of A WWII Sniper | Black Watch Snipers

Black Watch Snipers documents the Canadian military experience during WWII as seen through the eyes of a tightly-knit group of snipers from the country’s most storied Regiment—the Black Watch. Suffering more casualties during the war than any other Canadian regiment, this band of brothers suffered enormous sacrifices and endured the ultimate test of combat as they participated in the liberation of Western Europe from the clutches of Nazi tyranny. They not only survived one of the greatest military sagas in Canadian history, but are still alive and well to share it. This is their story.

The Real Story Of The Tomb Of The Unknown Warrior

The Real Story Of The Tomb Of The Unknown Warrior' Dan Snow explores the story of Westminster Abbey's most poignant memorials. The First World War was a conflict like nothing the World had ever known. More than 700,000 men mobilised in the UK would die during the conflict. Roughly 250,000 of those would have no known grave. The Tomb of the Unknown Warrior became a place where all those people who were denied a grave to visit could come to remember their loved ones. November 2020 marks 100 years since this unknown soldier was laid to rest in Westminster Abbey. For the centenary Dan Snow visits the Abbey and the National Army Museum, to learn more about an untold story behind the Unknown Warrior. Featuring Justin Saddington, curator of the Unknown Warrior exhibition at the National Army Museum.
