Military historian James Holland gets inside an operational T-34 tank, the pride and joy of the Soviet Union during the Second World War. Introduced in 1940, the T-34 was famously deployed with the Red Army against Operation Barbarossa - Nazi Germany's doomed invasion of Russia. Its 76.2 mm tank gun was more powerful than its contemporaries while its 60 degree sloped armour provided good protection against anti-tank weapons.
