Wildlife Takeover: How Animals Reclaimed Chernobyl | Wildlife Documentary Where humans move out, wildlife moves in. What would happen if we suddenly vanished from the Earth? How swiftly would nature reclaim its space? On the edge of Europe, an abandoned village provides a surprising answer. In a remarkably short time, this deserted landscape has become a sanctuary for rare and thriving species. This is Chernobyl—reclaimed by resilient wildlife and the descendants of pets left behind after the world’s worst nuclear disaster. This film unmasks the area’s new inhabitants. In homes where people once lived, wild animals now face unique challenges, while former domestic species must rediscover their primal instincts. It is a rare glimpse into an alternative world—a place of both abandonment and sanctuary where the future remains uncertain. As of April 2026, the animals continue to thrive. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Free Documentary NATURE is passionate about sharing the beauty and diversity of our world through high-quality documentaries available for free on the original video platform. Since then a series of analyses on the species' mitochondrial DNA and nuclear genome have revealed, that the previously thougt African variant of the Golden Jackal is actually distinct from it and is more closely related to the gray wolf and the coyote. Subsequently it is now known as the African golden wolf (Canis lupaster). Please excuse the outdated informations stated in this documentary. This film follows the lives of some of Africa’s smartest and most sociable animals, two families of golden jackals living in Tanzania’s spectacular Serengeti Plains. These animal characters are possibly the most endearing killers you’re ever likely to meet. The events of their lives in just one breeding season are full of drama, comedy, tragedy and tenderness. Jackals live in a nuclear family and they mate for life. Our two Jackal families are neighbors on the Short Grass plains between Naabi Hill & the Gol Kopjes.
