Dinosaur Extinction: What Caused It?

Scientists have long searched for the cause of dinosaur extinction, with many believing a catastrophic asteroid impact was responsible. However, some experts argue that this is only part of the story. A research team is exploring the ocean floor near the Yucatán impact crater, hoping to uncover clues that could explain the true cause of the dinosaurs' demise. While the asteroid impact is a significant factor, some scientists suggest that volcanic activity, land shifts, and a drop in global sea levels may have weakened the dinosaurs long before the asteroid struck. The siege of Tobruk grinds on, Halfaya Pass is a bruising contest, and on 21 June 1942 Tobruk falls, which Churchill calls one of the heaviest blows he could recall. With fresh Sherman tanks and RAF cover, Monty launches Operation Lightfoot on 23 October 1942, a night-long barrage that shocks the Axis. Fighting through deep minefields and fierce counterattacks, the Allies wear the enemy down. Operation Supercharge on 2 November breaks the line and forces a retreat.
